West Sumatera Delegations Promote West Sumatera’s Business and Investment Potentials in The Netherlands

Several business and investment opportunities in West Sumatera was discussed during a forum held at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in The Hague on 24 May 2017.

In this forum, several Dutch renewable energy companies stated their interest to learn further and look for the possibility of cooperation with West Sumatera Provincial Government. 

The Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, H.E. I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja expressed his hopes that the potential of cooperation discussed in the forum could be materialized. Opening the forum in front of around 30 participants. Ambassador Puja also conveyed his optimism of the continuous enhancement of the bilateral relations. “I hope that the increasing bilateral trade and the increase of Dutch investment to Indonesia as well as the number of Dutch tourists to Indonesia in 2016 will continue in the coming years, including Dutch investment and Dutch tourists to West Sumatera”, added the Ambassador.  

The delegation of West Sumatera to this forum was led by the Governor of West Sumatera, Prof. Irwan Prayitno. In his presentation, Governor Irwan Prayitno not only explained various potentials offered by West Sumatera such as through the development of Mandeh Integrated Marine Tourism, geothermal and hydro power, but also some incentives for investors.

During their stay in the Netherlands, the West Sumatera delegation will also be participating in the Tong-Tong Fair, an annual festival in The Hague featuring Indonesian culture.
